Happy Birthday Mom!

Before you say that the photo looks like a display ad for an online store in eBay, no, this perfume is not for sale. I recently went home to Cagayan de Oro this August to celebrate my mom’s birthday and stayed there for a week. I got this for her as a You-Still-Look-Young-Even-At-54 birthday present.

Bvlgari Voile de Jasmin

Bvlgari Voile de Jasmin Eau de Toilette 1.7 fl oz
Innocent and feminine, with a delicate grace and sensibility, Voile de Jasmin is a new light and fresh scent to complement the white floral side of the Pour Femme fragrance.

Notes: Living Jasminum Sambac, Italian Bergamot, Orange Blossom, Rosewood, Ylang-Ylang, Living Mimosa, Living Rose.

This is an old note from Bvlgari released in 2005 together with Bvlgari’s Rose Essentielle. Voile de Jasmin has living jasmine sambac, bergamot, orange blossom, rosewood, ylang ylang, living mimosa, and living rose. I surmounted the fact that if I ever wanted a floral scent then it has to be jasmine. It is a fresh and floral interpretation of BVLGARI Pour Femme but I can totally compare this to Estee Lauder’s Pleasures – another favorite of my mother’s.

At past fifty, my mom’s style is classic, feminine and delicate and I can see why others have bought this scent for their mothers, too. Bvlgari’s White Jasmine identifies very much with her lifestyle and what I initially liked about this fragrance is the subtlety of jasmine notes in it – not strong, very feminine and sophisticated without being old lady-ish. It doesn’t have that much staying power though and I doubt my mom has all the time in the world to reapply after a few hours. Perhaps if you have oily skin, it makes eau de toilette last longer.

Do you know what type of perfume your mom likes? Does your preference have to do with her lifestyle or likes and dislikes? Although my mom’s scent has already become forever wired to my brain since birth (admit it, you too!), this has already helped form a strong bond between us. Even if I’m already quite sure what her perfume preference is (DKNY Citrus notes and Estee Lauder’s Pleasures), it doesn’t hurt to try something new. Daughters nose best! :) *wink*

Happy birthday, mom! Love you to bits.

Hi Kristine! I love that you decide that the finest things in life are deserving to your mom. Bvlgari notes are mom-ish though. Great choice.
